From Doubting to Doing

Hi! It’s 3:47am now and I just started making a blog website. I’ve thought of starting a blog for years… but fear, self-doubt and busy mom life always held me back. You see, I am a very introverted person. I tend to care what people think of me and I always worry about the things I say may come out not how I intend it to be. I really think too much. And then, in 2017, I started my own home-based business to help my family’s finance (busy mom life). Even though it is not impossible to live in a single-income family, it is still a struggle. I started making handmade soaps! It was all thanks to my husband’s skin reaction to a certain soap product that made me look into the ingredients of soaps. Lo and behold… it was at that moment that we realized we need to pay more attention to ingredients in food, skin products and many more (even the materials of the clothes we are wearing)! I’ve got so much to say about my past business but let’s save that for another blog post.

Lately, I’ve felt this quiet little nudge that says “It’s time to stop hiding and do it! Time to share. Time to connect. You may have some knowledge and experience that may benefit others.” And voila – A Day With Adelin was created! Ok, I have to apologize in advance for any shortcomings with the whole social medias and blog posts. I am still trying to figure everything out!

Allow me to briefly introduce myself. I’m a stay-at-home mama to 3 kids. And while my days are filled with snacks, spills and snuggles – they’re also filled with lessons, little victories and love. It’s not always easy but it’s everything I needed. My eldest is Lut and he is currently in Secondary 1. My second born is Sarah and she is 9. My youngest, Is, who shares the same Chinese zodiac animal as his eldest brother (yup, they are 12 years apart and born in the year of Dragon). Does that make me mother of Dragons? Dracarys~~

I have a love for making things beautiful and functional. Whether it’s reorganizing a drawer or creating simple crafts with my kids, it is those things that bring me peace and joy.

This blog is my (almost) open journal – a place to share real moments of motherhood: the sweet, the silly, the stressful. I want it to be a soft place for moms to land, to feel seen, inspired and reminded that we are never alone. Whether it’s a recipe that saves dinner time, a DIY that brings joy or just a few words that help you breathe a little easier today – I hope you find something here that feels like a hug.

So if you’re a mom (working or SAHM) who sometimes feels messy, tired and unsure – welcome! We are all figuring it out and we’re doing better than we think. I hope my posts inspire you like how others have inspired me.
